Influence of Portugal in the Brazilian culture

Our Institution is situated in formerly typical agricultural area, this regional area is considered economically and socially disadvantage in part because of its peripheral location within the country. This also an area with an ageing population, in fact that is a main problem as the region facing a decreasing of the population as well as a migration of people to major and developed cities. The region Alentejo is too dependent on the public employment and investment and it is also characterized for his high rate of unemployment, school abandonment and isolation. The training centre aims to make up for any lack of educational and professional qualifications amongst the young and adult population by enabling them to acquire the necessary educational, technical, social and relational skills that will provide them with access to  better career opportunities. Educating for a global citizenship in addition to an education for a national citizenship, with a commitment to national identity values, connected to the universal rights and values, also reinforcing and strengthening the European identity and enabling citizens to participate, in a more intensive way, in the process of EU integration. The European citizenship does not replace the citizenship of each state, but complements it. Our pupils come from middle-class and modest families.

Escola Profissional de Cuba develops its activity in the village of Cuba and gives both Vocational and Education and Training courses to a school population aged between 15 and 22 years old.
The school is an entity dedicated to vocational education for young people and adults, with dual certification, with capacity for 200 students.

  4. Communication, Marketing, Public Relations and Publicity;
  5. Gas;
  6. Industrial Maintenance and Electro mechanics;
  7. Design;
  8. Photography;
  9. Child Care;

 

Our school pretends to :

  • Educating for a global citizenship in addition to an education for a national citizenship, with a commitment to national identity values, connected to the universal rights and values.
  • Promoting the organized participation of school and its students with various entities, around a common strategy for effective intervention in the development of the region.
  • Providing a high level of expertise and training with specific skills, allowing continuous adaptation to the ongoing changes, in the various sectors of economic activity.
  • Developing young people's motivation and confidence   to engage them in solidarity, cooperation and integration activities, and creating affective ties with the space and the community.
  • Reinforcing and strengthening the European identity and enabling citizens to participate, in a more intensive way, in the process of EU integration. The European citizenship does not replace the citizenship of each state, but complements it.
  • Promoting intercultural dialogue, taking into account its importance for the European identity and citizenship. According to the enlargement of the European Union and globalization, Europe is becoming more diversified culturally.
  • Involving school in what happens in its region is not only a need, it is a requirement. The importance of School Partnerships comes in this context. A socio - educational Partnership, involving the educational community, business and society in genera is needed.
